Beca: about being a Aircraft Design Organisation (ADO) in NZ.
Rob McGivern will give an introduction to Beca ADO. In particular:
What is an ADO;
What Rules apply;
When are ADOs needed;
Who are the ADOs;
What do they do;
Bilateral NAA Recognitions, and
The current commercial Situation.
Neil Mario. Engineer Grad & UoA Aeronautics Club member
Neil will discuss designing gossamer structural spar elements for human powered aircraft. Working with minimum ply laminates to achieve the best ‘Specific strength’ for the wing tubes that correspond to the design wing loading plus an optimised safety factor.
William Li & Angela Kwan, UoA Aeronautics Club HPA wings team.
William & Angela will present the work to date of the wings team has done on the load case and wing analysis, showing process of assumptions, equations and the things that were difficult, how each was resolved and what the team are working on next.
